BRIDEZILLA? NOT HERE!
From
the moment the engagement ring is placed on your finger, the wedding
planning can begin in earnest
However, whilst stress levels
increase and immune systems become lower, it is easy for all natural
reason to go out the matrimonial window. Suddenly, nothing is funny
anymore and all usual perspective is lost. If this is sounding familiar,
then beware... because in the world of weddings, we call this the
'BRIDEZILLA SYNDROME'.
| Bridezilla Syndrome Definition: A woman who
is just about to get married and has lost all sense of humour,
perspective and rationality. |
Weddings are obviously very special occasions marking an incredible
event in your lives so to avoid the Bridezilla Syndrome, follow
our five simple top tips:
- Keep a handle on things!
Remind yourself that your wedding day is only one day in your
life. Keeping calm will help you keep everything in perspective,
and take some of the pressure off.
- Delegate, Delegate, Delegate!
Spread the tasks and duties around your family and friends.
You'll be surprised how many people want to help so don't be
shy about asking.
- Remember it's a Family Occasion!
Your parents have probably been dreaming about this day as long
as you, if not longer... So make sure you take into account
their aspirations and ideas and incorporate them where you can.
After all, they are probably paying for it too
- No Wedding Talk After 9pm
Set some limits away from wedding planning where you can do
other things you enjoy. Whether you agree to no wedding talk
after 9pm or set other limits such as only dealing with the
wedding every other week, make sure you give yourself a break!
- Love the Closest People to You!
It goes without saying, but just in case: Your wedding day is
special, but only lasts one day - your friends and family however,
they are forever.
